OWENSBORO, Ky. --- A great night on the course for the Mississippi College women's cross country team resulted in the Lady Choctaws taking the top spot as a team and the individual top finisher at the Kentucky Wesleyan University-hosted Fast Cats Classic on Friday, Oct. 9.

The 2020 edition of the Navy and Gold posted an average time of 18:46.69 in the 5K race. MC placed all seven, scoring runners in the top 20.

Jazmin Hernandez won the race as she posted a time of 18:14.89 in just her second race donning the Navy and Gold.

McKenzie Hargrove took bronze in the race. Hargrove posted a collegiate-best, 5K-time of 18:35.56 as she finished third.
Madeline Campbell finished just one spot back of her teammate in fourth with a time of 18:36.68.

Kathy Hammond placed seventh overall and was the fourth finisher for the Lady Choctaws with a time of 19:11.17.
Emma Langley was finished right behind Hammond with a 19:15.14.
Emily Berry and
Elizabeth Speed rounded out the top seven slots for MC. Berry finished 13th (20:02.04) while Speed posted a time of 20:27.51 in 16th.

Kentucky Wesleyan finished second with the Cumberlands in third place on the team side. KWU's Breanna Alderton was second among the individuals with a time of 18:35.05.

Mississippi College returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 17 as it hosts the Watson Invitational.
