CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's basketball team fell 74-42 to No. 6 Lee University on Thursday, Jan 30. MC moved to 8-11 on the season and 5-8 in Gulf South Conference play. LU improved to 20-1 and 12-1 in the league.

Moriah Hurst paced the Lady Choctaws in scoring with eight points while
Mikeba Jones grabbed a team-best 10 rebounds. The Lady Choctaws shot 28.9 percent from the field, including a clip of 44.4 from the 3-point line. MC connected on 12-of-16 from the free throw line for 75 percent.

Lee was led by Lindsey Roddy with 17 points. Taylor Boggess and Haley Schubert posted 12 points each. Abby Bertram paced them on the board with seven rebounds. The Lady Flames shot 39.1 percent and 37.1 from behind the arc. They connected on 11-of-18 from the charity stripe for 61.1 percent.

Kaitlyn Thompson, however, the Lady Flames responded with a 16-0 run en route to holding a 20-8 advantage at the end of the first 10 minutes.
>> Lee ran its lead out to 20 points, behind back-to-back 3-pointers from Boggess, with 4:06 left before the half. The Lady Flames took a 42-14 lead in at the half.
>> The Red and Blue swelled its lead to its largest margin, 60-27, with 7:57 left to play on a layup from Becca Cheeks.

>> Jones has led the Navy and Gold in rebounding seven times this season. That's tied for most on the team on the campaign.
