PENSACOLA, Fla. --- The Mississippi College men's basketball team shot just 16-of-54 (29.6%) from the field in a 66-44 loss at West Florida on Saturday afternoon at the UWF Field House.
The Choctaws fell to 6-8 with a 2-6 Gulf South Conference record, while the Argos improved to 8-8 with a 5-4 league mark.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 - The Argonauts scored the first four points of the games on baskets from Jon Brown and Tarik McElphin and never trailed the rest of the night on the way to the wire-to-wire victory.
 - The Choctaws got back-to-back scores from
Winceton Edwards and
Stefan Bozickovic to cut the score to 21-14 with 8:07 remaining in the first half.
 - UWF was able to answer, however, and when McKelphin hit a shot in the final seconds, they would take a 34-18 lead at the halftime break.
 - The Argos opened the second half on a 7-2 run and never looked back as they went on to get the decisive win.

KEY STATS
 - The Choctaws went 8-of-27 (29.6%) from the floor in each half, also going just 2-of-15 (13%) from the three-point line.

Winford Ross netted his third double-double of the season, scoring 10 points and tying a season-high with 13 rebounds, while also blocking three shots
 - Edwards led the Choctaws with 19 points,, going 9-of-18 from the field.
 - The MC defense held UWF to just over 40% shooting from the field, but all 11 Argos scored in the contest.
 - McKelphin led all scorers with 22 points, also notching a double-double with 10 rebounds.
 - Lawrence Williams also had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.
