CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team fell in a pair of five-set heartbreakers on Saturday, Sept. 21 inside A.E. Wood Coliseum to Spring Hill College and Henderson State University. It's the fourth time this season MC (3-8) has played to five sets this season.

Jamie Boros led the Choctaws with 35 kills in the two matches.
Kendall Platt joined her fellow sophomore with 28 kills while freshman
Kate Bass added 12 in the five-setter with Spring Hill.

TURNING POINT
MC held as much as a 14-8 lead in the deciding set, but the Badgers roared back to knot the contest at 14-all behind a Choctaw miscue. SHC added a service ace followed by a Payton Gidney kill to close out the match.

Boros, Platt and Bass each totaled double figure kills in the match. It marks the fifth time this season a trio of Choctaws have finished with double-digit kills in the same match.
Ingrid Savola recorded 20-plus assists for the third time in her career with a career-high 23 against the Badgers.
Platt garnered a career-high 21 digs in the match. She surpassed her previous high of 20 against West Georgia on Sept. 29, 1018.

TURNING POINT
After battling back to send the match to the deciding set, the Choctaws held a 14-13 lead, however, HSU rattled off the final three points behind a pair of kills from Sabrina Show to clinch the match.

Boros and Platt led the Navy and Gold with a combined 32 kills in the match as Boros posted a team-best 17.
Lexie Laurendine recorded her seventh contest this season with 20-plus assists as she totaled a season-high 28 – one off her career-best set against West Alabama last season.
The Choctaws and Reddies have played a combined nine sets this season.
