HUNTSVILLE, Ala. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team dropped a pair of matches to close out the University of Alabama in Huntsville hosted Charger Invitational. MC fell in five sets to Missouri S&T to open the day and Lynn claimed the match in straight sets.

TURNING POINT
Tied at 6-all in the deciding set, the Miners rattled off four straight points, including three consecutive aces to grab a 10-6 advantage. S&T closed the set on a 9-4 run as it rallied from two sets down to capture the contest.

INSIDE THE BOX
- Lexie Laurendine secured her sixth, career triple-double and second of the season with 10 kills, 24 assists, 12 digs.
- Kate Bass recorded a season-high with 11 kills. She surpassed her previous total of five she's reached four times this season.
- Bass also turned in a season-high seven blocks as she reset her previous total of six at Ouachita Baptist last weekend.
- Jamie Boros registered her eighth contest in double figures, which leads the team. Boros added a career-high with 13 digs.
- Kendall Platt recorded her sixth contest with double figure kills.
- The five-set match is the second of the season for the Navy and Gold. The team stands at 1-1 in five setters.
- Ingrid Savola dished out 20-plus assists for the second time this season with 21 in the match.
- Saturday's meeting was the first between the two squads in series history.

Mississippi College returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 21 as it hosts Spring Hill College and Henderson State in a tri-match. The Choctaws open the day with SHC at 12 p.m. and close out the day against the Reddies at 4 p.m.
