HUNTSVILLE, Ala. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team split its first day of action at the Charger Invitational on the campus of the University of Alabama in Huntsville. The Choctaws (3-4) topped Southern Wesleyan University in four sets to close out the afternoon after falling in straight sets to Ouachita Baptist.

TURNING POINT
Mississippi College opened the fourth set with a 10-0 run forcing Southern Wesleyan to burn both of its timeouts. The run pushed the Choctaws to a 13-point, match-clinching victory.

INSIDE THE BOX
- Sophomores Kendall Platt and Jamie Boros each totaled double figure kills in the match. Platt led the team with 14 kills while Boros chimed in 12. It marked the seventh straight, double-digit kill match for Boros this season.
- Sophomore Lexie Laurendine finished three kills shy of her sixth, career triple-double. She finished with 24 assists and 17 digs – second most on the team.
- Ingrid Savola set a career-high with three aces while Laurendine tied a career-high with three.
- Noa Parks made her Mississippi College debut.

The Choctaws held a 19-18 lead in the second set following a Boros kill, but the Tigers knotted the contest at 19-all and collected the next two points to grab a 21-19 lead. MC pulled within a point on a
Kendall Platt kill, but OBU responded with 4-1 run to close out the set and take a 2-0 lead in the match.

- For the sixth straight match, Boros led the team in kills with 12. The Pompano Beach, Fla., native 84 kills on the season.
- Erin Davis registered a career-high with 11 digs. The sophomore surpassed her previous high of set at Henderson State last weekend.
- Lexie Laurendine finished four kills shy of her sixth, career triple-double. The sophomore registered six in the contest and finished second on the team in kills for the match.
- The setback gives Ouachita a 2-1 lead in the series as the two squads split the pair of meetings this season.
