OXFORD, Ala. --- The No. 24 Mississippi College baseball team fell 14-4 in an elimination game against Valdosta State University on the second day of the Gulf South Conference Championship Tournament.

Hunter Sykes collected a multiple hit effort going 2-for-3 with a run.
Dylan Duplechain garnered a multi-RBI performance.

Zack Ingram (6-4) took the loss on the mound. Ingram tossed 2.2 frames in the start and gave up six runs on nine hits with one strikeout.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blazers posted a six spot in the third highlighted by a pair of home runs. DJ King connected on a two-run homer to left center and Aaron Haughton followed with a solo.
- Chauncey Callier broke up the Blazer perfect game with a solo home run to left center.
- The Choctaws added three in the sixth as Dylan Duplechain tripled to score Hunter Sykes and Payton Yawn. Duplechain later scored on a wild pitch.
- VSU responded with two in the bottom of the sixth as Josh Broughton drove in two with a single to third base.
- The Blazers added five runs in the bottom of the seventh to secure the contest.
