Crim and Peavy Named MC Renasant Bank Athletes of the Week

CLINTON, Miss. --- Mississippi College senior Blaine Crim and freshman Annemarie Peavy have been named Mississippi College Renasant Bank Athletes of the Week, it was announced on Monday (April 8).
 

Crim (Mobile, Ala.) became the program's career hits leader over the weekend with a three-hit performance on Friday at Christian Brothers University. Crim broke the 34-year old record with a RBI double.

He finished the weekend with a .455 batting average, including three doubles and a home run, with six RBI and three walks. He slugged 1.000 and posted a .571 on-base percentage.

Crim and the Choctaws have five games scheduled this week, opening on Tuesday with a doubleheader at Henderson State before hosting Shorter for a three-game series this weekend.
 

Peavy (Port Allen, La.) led the Lady Choctaws to a 5-0 week with a .625 batting average, four doubles, two home runs, nine runs scored and eight RBI. The rookie went 10-for-16 at the plate with a 1.250 slugging percentage and a .700 on-base perecentage.

Peavy really shined in the finale of the Christian Brothers series, going 4-for-4 with two home runs, including a grand slam, seven RBI and four runs scored. She led off the game with a long ball and drove in the game's final runs with a grand slam in the fifth inning. Her seven RBI was the most for a Lady Choctaw since Sarah Finch drove in eight in 2011.

On the season, Annemarie is hitting a team-best .367 with a team-high four triples. She ranks 2nd on the team with 11 doubles and 29 runs scored and is 3rd with 26 RBI.

Peavy and the Lady Choctaws are scheduled to be back in action this weekend for a three-game GSC series with Shorter.
 

Mississippi College is a private Christian university located in Clinton, Mississippi with an enrollment of over 5,000 students.
