MEMPHIS, Tenn. --- Mississippi College's
Blaine Crim became the program's all-time hits leader as the Choctaws run-ruled Christian Brothers University, 16-3, to open a three-game, Gulf South Conference series on Friday afternoon in Memphis.

With a RBI-double in the seventh inning, Crim surpassed Richey Hines as the career hits leader. The Mobile, Ala., senior collected his 229th hit during his four seasons in Clinton and broke the 34-year old record set by Hines in 1985.

Crim was one of three Choctaws with multiple hits in the contest as the Navy and Gold pounded out 13 total hits en route to the victory.
Brandon Broussard joined Crim with three hits on the day while
Billy Cameron added a pair of hits. Crim and Cameron along with
Hunter Sykes each drove in multiple runs in the contest.

Chris Crosby grabbed his team-best fifth win of the season on the mound. Crosby fanned eight in seven innings en route to his complete-game victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Mississippi College opened the game early with seven runs through its first three trips to the plate. The Choctaws posted four runs in the second and added three more in the third to hold a 7-1 lead.
- CBU cut into the deficit with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth to trail 7-3 through four frames.
- With a two-run, home run in the fifth, Cameron regained the six-run lead for the Choctaws in the fifth inning.
- The Navy and Gold iced the contest with seven runs in the seventh inning – the second, five-plus run inning of the season. Grant Barber, Cameron, Luke Yancey and Sykes joined Crim with a RBI-hit in the frame as 12 Choctaws went to the plate during the frame.

- Crosby allowed the three Bucs' runs on four hits in the contest along with four walks.

NOTEABLES
- With two doubles on the day, Crim moved within two doubles of the program's all-time leader in the category. Crim has 49 in his career. David Smith (1989-92) stands as the doubles leader with 50.
- Crosby moved to tie for eighth in career strikeouts with his performance on the mound. Crosby joins Mike McNeer (1991-92) with 151 career strikeouts.
- Crosby recorded his first complete game as a Choctaw.
- The win is the 13th for Mississippi College in the series with CBU and the fifth of the last seven meetings, including three straight.
