MEMPHIS, Tenn. --- The Mississippi College baseball team recorded its fifth sweep of the season and fourth in Gulf South Conference action as the Choctaws claimed a doubleheader at Christian Brothers University on Saturday, April 6. MC took the first game of the twinbill 6-1 and closed out the weekend as it blanked the Bucs 9-0.

Billy Cameron led the Choctaws at the plate with four hits. The Mendenhall, Miss., junior finished the day going 4-for-8 with four RBI and a run scored.

Garrett Hollinghead and
Zack Ingram notched victories on the mound. Hollinghead struck out four in eight innings as he improved to 5-1 on the season. Ingram fanned six in five innings as he moved to 4-2 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Choctaws picked a pair on a Yancey double to center field to take a 2-0 lead in the top of the fourth.
- The Bucs picked up their only run of the game in the bottom of the frame.
- The Navy and Gold posted a four-run, sixth inning to capture the series-clinching victory. Billy Cameron's two-RBI, single headlined the frame and was sandwiched between a Grant Barber RBI-single and Brandon Broussard RBI-walk.

- The Choctaws plated four runs in two of their first, three trips to the plate to take a 4-0 lead.
- Cameron registered his second RBI hit of the game in the fifth with a single that scored Crim.
- MC padded its lead in the sixth with a four-run inning headlined by a Crim three-run home run. Barber started the scoring in the frame with sacrifice fly that plated Luke Yancey.

- Ryan Lane closed the door on the Buccaneers as he tossed the final two innings with three strikeouts.
