HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Broussard got the scoring started in the bottom of the second with a solo home run to dead center field.
  • After Montevallo tied the contest in the top of the seventh with a Tyler Krabbe solo home run, the Choctaws responded in the bottom of the frame as Callier broke the deadlock with a two-run, triple past a diving Khari Anderson in left field to score Blaine Crim and Grant Barber.
  • MC added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth as Broussard scored on a Barber sacrifice fly to right field.
  • The Falcons attempted to rally in the top of the ninth as the first three batters reached, including a Krabbe RBI-single, but Lane limited the Purple and Gold in the frame as he struck out the final two batters to end the rally and leave a pair stranded in scoring position.

ON THE MOUND
  • Crosby retired the first 12 batters he faced in the game and held the Falcons to one run on six hits with six strikeouts.
  • Lane allowed one run on two hits with a walk in the relief appearance along with the two punch-outs.

  • Callier's two-RBI day is his sixth of the season.
