HOW IT HAPPENED
- UAM jumped on the board early with a run in the first and added one more in the second off a Grant Shepherd solo home run to take a 2-0 lead.
- The Choctaws answered back in the third with a pair of runs of their own as Sykes and Grant Barber each drove in a run to knot the contest at 2-all.
- The two teams stood deadlocked until the Boll Weevils plated three runs in the top of the eighth headlined by a two-run, home run from Dylan Borman.
- MC for the second time responded with three runs of its own in the bottom of the ninth. Brandon Broussard started the scoring in the frame with a RBI single to pull the Navy and Gold within a two runs. Sykes followed with a two-run double down the right field line to score Sam Kimel and Chauncey Callier and push the potential, game-winning run 90 feet away, however, the Choctaws would leave two runners stranded to send the contest into extra frames.
- After working around a single in the top of the 10th, the Choctaws again had the potential, game-winner at third, but left the second straight inning left two aboard.
- UAM broke the 5-5 deadlock in the top of the 11th as Cade Thompson singled to left field to score Elijah Celaya. The Green and White added an insurance run one batter later to gain the two-run advantage.
