MONTGOMERY, Ala. --- The Mississippi College baseball team used timely hitting to grab the series opener with an 8-5 win at Auburn University at Montgomery on Friday, March 22 at the AUM Baseball Complex. The MC compiled 12 hits in the first meeting between the two, Gulf South Conference programs.

Four Choctaws recorded multiple hits in the contest led by a pair of three-hit performances from
Blaine Crim and
Luke Yancey.
Dylan Duplechain and
Chauncey Callier each added two-hit, two-RBI efforts. Crim led the team with three RBI.

Chris Crosby (3-2) tossed eight innings in the win as he allowed four runs on eight hits with three strikeouts and two walks. The victory marked the third of the season for the Saucier, Miss., native.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Choctaws struck first in the game as Callier doubled down the left field line to score Barber in the first.
- Duplechain increased the lead in the second with a double that plated Alderman.
- Duplechain added the first of a pair of runs in the fourth as he singled up the middle to score Yancey. Duplechain later scored on a Crim infield single.
- AUM picked up its first run of the game in the sixth as Casey Henderson scored on a Quinterrious Arrington ground out. Henderson led off the inning with a triple to right field.
- Callier added his second RBI with a two-out, home run in the seventh.
- AUM clipped the deficit as Arrington and Henderson each drove in a run in the bottom of the seventh.
- MC answered the Warhawks' seventh with a three-run inning headlined by a Crim two-RBI, single.
- AUM added a pair of runs in a rally attempt, but were turned away in its last at-bat.

- Callier's home run was his fourth of the season and 19th for the Choctaws this season.
