CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College baseball team returns to Gulf South Conference action this weekend as the Choctaws travel to Montgomery, Ala., to face Auburn University at Montgomery in a three-game series starting on Friday, March 22 at 6 p.m. The series is set to conclude on Saturday, March 23 with a doubleheader slated for a 1 p.m. first pitch.
THE SERIES
• Mississippi College and Auburn Montgomery meet for the first time in series history on Friday, March 22. AUM is transitioning into NCAA Division II. The Warhawks are in their third year of the transition.

SCOUTING THE WARHAWKS
• AUM enters the weekend 14-12 and 6-6 in the Gulf South Conference. The Warhawks snapped a three-game skid on Tuesday, March 20 with a 7-3 win against Georgia Southwestern State. AUM took two of three from Union in its last GSC action.
• Dalton Cobb leads the Warhawks at the plate. Cobb leads the squad with a .333 batting average and a team-best 31 hits. Matthew Zielonko has a team-leading four home runs on the season while driving in a team-best 24 runs.
• Five Warhawks have a team-best two wins on the season. Troy Jones leads the staff with 36.1 innings on the mound and a team-best 36 strikeouts. AUM's staff has a 5.39 ERA.

Jeremy Haworth has never coached against Auburn University at Montgomery in his seven seasons as a head coach.

Blaine Crim sits second in hits (216), at-bats (632), RBI (171), total bases (356); third in home runs (30); fourth in doubles (44); sixth in runs scored (139); and ninth in games played (168).

Tommy Taborda is third in saves (9) and seventh in appearances (50).

Zack Ingram is 10th in career innings pitched with 177.2 and eight strikeouts from the top 10 in career strikeouts.

Ryan Lane moved to fifth in career saves with his first of the season at Lee. Lane have seven career saves.

• Mississippi College fell 5-1 in Biloxi, Miss., at MGM Park to William Carey University on Wednesday, March 20.
Grant Barber and
Brandon Broussard logged multiple hits in the contest with two each. The Choctaws couldn't find the timely hit as they left nine runners on base in the contest as they had a runner reach in every inning, but the ninth. The Navy and Gold went 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position.
Dustan Dille (1-1) suffered the loss as he allowed five runs – four earned - on four hits in 2.0 innings in the start with two walks and three strikeouts.

BARBER NAMED GSC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
• Mississippi College's
Grant Barber was named Gulf South Conference Player of the Week for his efforts during the four-game stretch last weekend, including a sweep at Lee University, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday, March 19.
 • Barber posted a team-best .615 clip at the plate during the four-game stretch and logged eight hits, including four doubles along with the game-winner in a 7-6 victory at Lee on Sunday, March 17. The Mobile, Ala., native registered multiple hits in all four games and accounted for eight runs with three RBI and five runs scored. He registered three walks and reached twice via hit by pitch. He posted a .722 on-base and a .923 slugging percentage.
