JACKSON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College baseball team split a Sunday doubleheader against Valdosta State University at Smith-Wills Stadium. The Choctaws rallied in the 11th to take a 5-4 win in the night cap after VSU opened the series with a 9-1 victory.

Grant Barber and Dyland Duplechain led the team at the dish with three hits each in the doubleheader. The duo each recorded multiple hits in the second game of the twinbill. Barber went 3-for-5 with a RBI and run scored, including the game-winner. Duplechain was 2-for-6 with two runs scored.

Dustan Dille picked up his first win of the season on the mound as he tossed 1.1 innings and allowed just two hits in the relief appearance.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After three scoreless frames, VSU picked up a pair of runs in the fourth and added another in the sixth to take a 3-0 lead through five and half innings. Logan Stephens drove in two of the three runs with a double in the third and a single in the sixth.
- Billy Cameron closed the lead with a solo home run in the sixth to clip the deficit to two runs.
- The Blazers responded with five runs in the seventh to expand their lead to 8-1. Four RBI singles helped lead the Red and Black in the frame.
- VSU gathered its final run in the eighth as Jowenrick Daantji singled up the middle to score Mack Hathcock.

- Chris Crosby (1-2) took the loss on the mound with 6.1 innings pitched and six runs – five earned – on six hits. Crosby struck out five and walked one.
- Christian Bellew tossed two-thirds of an inning with two runs allowed on three hits along with a walk and strikeout.
- Brewer Hendrix tossed one frame with an unearned run allowed one hit.
- Stephen Atkins tossed a scoreless frame to close out the contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Choctaws started the scoring in their first at-bat. After Dylan Duplechain scored on a wild pitch, Chauncey Callier singled to center field to score Barber.
- VSU tied the game in the fourth as Daantji scored on a failed pick-off attempt following a Stephens' RBI single to plated Hathcock.
- The Blazers took a 4-2 lead in the 10th on RBI singles from Daantji and DJ King.
- Blaine Crim forced the second tie of the game with a two-RBI double up the middle that pushed Duplechain and Payton Yawn across the dish. Crim advanced to third on a throw to the plate.
- VSU posted back-to-back intentional walks to load the bases and escaped the inning with back-to-back strikeouts, leaving the bases full of Choctaws.

- Garrett Hollinghead tossed 4.2 innings in the start and allowed two runs – one earned – on four hits along with a walk and four strikeouts.
- Zack Ingram tossed five frames in relief as he struck out four with three walks and two runs on three hits.

- Mississippi College is 2-0 in extra-inning affairs this season. The Choctaws used a walk-off, hit by pitch to defeat Lindenwood on Feb. 9, 3-2, in 10 innings.
- Mississippi College is 4-1 this season when playing at Smith-Wills Stadium in Jackson, Miss. The Choctaws swept the University of West Georgia earlier this season.
- Cameron's home run is his fourth this season, ninth of his MC career and first since Feb. 25 against West Georgia at Smith-Wills.
- The extra-inning contest marked the second come-from-behind and last at-bat win of the season. The first came against Lindenwood on Feb. 10.
