COLUMBUS, Miss. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team picked up its first win in the series with Mississippi University for Women since 1994 as the rivalry renewed for the first time since 1997. The win was the third in the series and as many on the Owls' home floor.

Lexie Laurendine led the Choctaws in kills with seven while
Levi Lennard paced the squad with 16 assists. Defensively,
Julia Martin recorded 15 digs while
Kate Bass registered seven total blocks.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After rallying to take the first two sets of the match, the Choctaws jumped out early going on a 6-1 run to start the third set. MC expanded its lead to 16-3 en route to the 25-13 match-clinching victory.

INSIDE THE BOX
The win snapped a three-match skid to the Owls in the series.
MUW's 13 points is the second fewest allowed in a set this season by the Choctaws. MC held Lane College to 10 in the third set on Oct. 4.
With the victory, MC has claimed three of its last four outings this season.
It's the third sweep of the season for the Choctaws.
