CLINTON, Miss. – The Mississippi College volleyball team evened its record with a straight sets win over Division I Mississippi Valley State University on Tuesday, Sept. 18. The victory is the second, straight sweep for the Choctaws (7-7) and its second over a member from the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
MC evened the series with Valley at 2-2, including claiming the last two outings.

TURNING POINT
After Mississippi College edged Valley 25-23 in the opening set, the Choctaws took control of the match in the second set as it held a 17-8 lead. MVSU attempted to rally, but couldn't overcome the deficit as MC to a 25-17 win and a 2-0 lead.
INSIDE THE BOX
- Freshmen Jamie Boros and Kendall Platt led the Choctaws offensively for the second, straight match as the duo posted double-digit kills.
- For the third straight match Boros has paced the Navy and Gold in kills.
- Sophomore Brandi Bundy finished as the team leader in digs with 12 – two off her career-high set against the University of Texas-Permian Basin.
- Senior Jill Brown marked her 12th match this season with 10-plus digs – matching her double-digit, dig total from last season.
- The Devilettes 11.2 attack percentage is the third lowest this season by an opponent. Only Auburn Montgomery and Alcorn State has posted a lower clip this season.
- The straight set sweep marks the fourth of the season and surpasses the straight set win total from last season.
