LIVINGSTON, Ala.  – The Mississippi College volleyball team opened Gulf South Conference play with a straight sets lost at the University of West Alabama on Tuesday, Sept. 11. MC stands at 5-6 overall and 0-1 in the conference while the Tigers improve to 7-3 on the campaign and 1-0 in the league.

TURNING POINT
After a tightly contested opening set that saw West Alabama rattle off the final four points, after the Choctaws held a 23-21 lead, the Tigers opened the second set with a 10-6 run en route to a 25-17 win and a 2-0 lead in the match.
  
INSIDE THE BOX
Freshman Kendall Platt led the Choctaws with eight kills on the night.
Sophomore Autumn Frost picked up two more blocks to continue her drive to 100 career blocks.
Sophomore Brandi Bundy led the Navy and Gold in digs eight on the night. Senior Jill Brown added six digs.
