ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Mississippi College volleyball team closed out the second day of the co-hosted Henderson State, Ouachita Baptist Reddie-Tiger Invitational with a pair of straight set, setbacks. MC fell to OBU to wrap up the Invite after falling to Dallas Baptist University earlier in the day.

TURNING POINT
- Ouachita Baptist took a 2-0 lead following tightly-contested sets to open the match. OBU claimed a 25-22 opening set win and escaped the match being tied at one set each with a 28-26, second set win. The Choctaws wouldn't let the Tigers have the match with ease as the Navy and Gold battled to a 25-21 setback in the final set. The two squads stood tied at 21-all in the set before OBU strung together the final four points to claim the match.
INSIDE THE BOX
- Freshmen Kendall Platt and Jamie Boros paced the Choctaws offensively in the match with 12 kills each. Platt has six matches in double figure kills. Boros has four matches with double-digit kills.
- Rylee Markham's team-best 21 assists gives her four matches this season with 20-plus assists.
- Autumn Frost continues to be a force at the net with four blocks in the setback. The Largo, Fla., product leads the team with 24 blocks this season. She also added six kills in the match.

TURNING POINT
- Dallas Baptist took a 2-0 lead in the match after claiming a 25-16, second set over the Choctaws. DBU grabbed an 8-1 lead in the set en route to the nine-point win. MC attempted to rally in the third set as the two teams stood deadlocked at 9-all, but a the Patriots went on a 6-2 run to hold a 15-10 advantage in the set en route to a 25-16 win.
INSIDE THE BOX
- Platt continues to impress in her first season with the Navy and Gold. The Anaheim, Calif., native led the team with 11 kills, recording her fifth match in double figures.
- DBU's .311 attack clip is the best against the Choctaws this season.
- Jill Brown's three service aces reset her season-high. The senior also led the team with 11 digs.
- Lexie Laurendine tied Frost for tops on the team with three blocks. The mark ties a season-high for Laurendine set against Quincy (Ill.) last weekend.
NEXT UP
Mississippi College returns to action on Thursday, Sept. 6 as it travels to Lorman, Miss., for a tri-match at Alcorn State University. MC opens the day at 2 p.m. against the homestanding Lady Braves before closing the day out against William Carey. Match time against the Crusaders is set for 4 p.m.
