ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Mississippi College volleyball split to open the first day of the Reddie-Tiger Invitational on the campus of Henderson State University. MC (3-3) swept Southwest Baptist University in straight sets to close out the afternoon after falling 3-0 to the host Reddies earlier in the day.

TURNING POINT
- After edging Southwest Baptist in the first set, 25-23, Mississippi College claimed a 25-14 win in the second set to go up two sets. MC clinched the match with a 25-17 final set.
INSIDE THE BOX
- Freshmen Jamie Boros and Kendall Platt led the Choctaws in scoring. Boros registered a season-high 14 kills to pace the squad. Platt finished with 11.
- Freshman Gwenyth Prenter led the squad at the net with two blocks.
- The straight win is the first of the season for the Navy and Gold and the first since Sept. 19, 2017 when MC turned back fellow Gulf South Conference member, Auburn University at Montgomery.
- The match was the first for the program against SBU.
- Freshman Erin Davis and sophomore Kaitlyn Wilson made their debuts for the Choctaws in the match.

- Henderson State took an early 2-0 command of the match as it won the first two sets 25-14 and 25-19. The Choctaws attempted a rally in the third set to extend the match, but eventually fell 25-17 to fall in straight sets.
INSIDE THE BOX
- Two Choctaws made their Mississippi College debuts in the match as Prenter and Erin Markham each logged time on the court.
- Autumn Frost led the Choctaws offensively with seven kills in the match. Boros and Lexie Laurendine each added six kills. Laurendine also added 10 assists in the match.
- Jill Brown paced the squad defensively with 16 digs while Platt added 10. The senior has gathered double-digit digs in all six matches this season for the Navy and Gold.
