MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Kendall Platt sets the program's single-match, kill record with 23 in the 3-1, setback to Southern Arkansas to close out the Dr. Margaret Downing Invitational. Mississippi College volleyball fell 3-0 to Quincy (Ill.) University to open the final day of the Invite.
The Anaheim, Calif., native, Platt, tied the record in the Choctaws 3-2 win over Cameron on Friday evening. The freshman registered 64 kills over the weekend to pace the Navy and Gold on the offensive end.

- After tying the match 1-1 through two sets, Southern Arkansas claimed the third set 25-19 to take a 2-1 advantage. Mississippi College attempted to send the match to a fifth set, but the rally came up short as it fell 25-21 in the fourth set.

- After Quincy took a 2-0 advantage, the Choctaws fought back in the third set to force a 24-all deadlock on a kill by Jamie Boros. However, a MC attack error opened the door for the Hawks. QU closed out the match on a kill from Taylor King.

Mississippi College returns to action on Friday, Aug. 31 as it travels to Arkadelphia, Ark., for the Reddie-Tiger Invitational. MC opens the two-day event with a 10 a.m. contest at Henderson State University before closing out the day against Southwest Baptist University at 2 p.m. on HSU's campus.
