ROME, Ga. --- The Mississippi College baseball team scored seven runs over the final three innings of a 9-5 come-from-behind victory on Sunday over Shorter University, completing a three-game sweep at the Ledbetter Baseball Complex.
The Choctaws improved to 13-2 with a 5-1 Gulf South Conference mark, while the Hawks fell to 9-10 and 2-4 in league play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hawks jumped out to a quick lead with three runs in the first inning and one in the second to grab a 4-0 advantage.
- The Choctaws started their comeback in the fourth inning with a pair of runs, highlighted by an RBI single from senior
Kyle Smith.
- Heading to the seventh down 4-2, MC would cut the lead in half with an unearned run scored on a Hawk error.
- The Choctaws would tie things up in the eighth inning as
Hunter Wilson and
Billy Cameron led off with singles and
Blaine Crim drove in Wilson with a single to make the score 4-4.

Luke Yancey would give the Choctaws their first lead of the day with a sacrifice fly to score Cameron, and
Fulton Johnson pushed the lead to 6-4 with an RBI single.
- After the Hawks cut the lead to 6-5 with a run in the eighth, Smith would lead off the ninth with a triple and come home to score on a sac fly by Wilson.
- Cameron dealt the big blow in the ninth with a two-run home run to give the game its final score of 9-5.

- Cameron went 4-for-5 with a home run, double, two runs scored and two RBI, leading a group of five Choctaws with multiple hits in the game.

Christian Bellew (1-0) picked up the win for MC, tossing 1.0 inning in relief.

Ryan Lane picked up the save by retiring all five of his batters faced over the last 1.2 innings.
- The Choctaw pitching staff struck out 15 Hawks in the game, led by seven from starter
Zack Ingram.
