FLORENCE, Ala. --- The #21 Mississippi College baseball team dropped a back-and-forth affair in the series finale against North Alabama, falling 12-8 on Saturday afternoon at Mike D. Lane Field.
The Choctaws dropped to 19-6 with a 9-5 Gulf South Conference mark, while the Lions improved to 18-11 and 10-5 in the league.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lions appeared well on their way to the series-clinching win as they jumped out to a 5-0 lead, highlighted by a 2-run home run from Davis Elliott in the 4th inning.
- The Choctaw offense came alive in the sixth as they scored six runs with the benefit of five hits and a UNA error.
- Juniors
Luke Yancey and
Ty Alderman each had two-run doubles to make the score 5-4 with one out.
- After a sacrifice fly by junior
Tanner White tied the game, a two-out RBI single from junior
Hunter Sykes gave the Choctaws a 6-5 lead.
- The Lions would answer right back in their half of the sixth as Elliott came up with a two-out RBI single.
- In the seventh, the Choctaws would grab the lead right back as Alderman singled home sophomore
Grant Barber to make the score 7-6.
- Sophomore
Brandon Broussard would extend the lead with a sacrifice fly that scored junior
Blaine Crim, pushing the lead to 8-6.
- The Lions came right back with two runs in the seventh to tie things up, driving in the game-tying score with two outs.
- UNA would then load the bases with no outs in the 8th inning, but the Choctaws recorded two outs without a run crossing the plate.
- Kyle Hubbuch would deal the decisive blow as he cleared the loaded bases with a double, making the score 11-8.

- Barber and Alderman each had two hits for the Choctaws, joining Yancey and White to give the Choctaws four doubles in the contest.
- Alderman had a team-high three RBI, while Yancey drove in a pair.
- Seven different Choctaws scored in the game, led by two runs from Barber.

Ryan Lane (3-1) took the loss on the mound for MC, allowing a hit and two runs.

Zack Ingram got the start for MC and scattered five hits over 6.0 innings with seven strikeouts.
- Hubbuch led the UNA offense with three hits, three runs scored and four RBI.
- Elliott had two hits and two runs scored, driving in three to go with the two-run home run.
- Channing Wall (2-1) grabbed the win for UNA, giving up just two hits and an earned run over the final 3.0 innings.
