CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College baseball team clinched the series against McKendree (Ill.) University on Sunday, Feb. 18 with a pair of wins at Frierson Field at Dickins-Scoper Stadium. MC (6-1) claimed the series with a 12-3 victory in the night cap after it held off a late charge in the opener for a 4-2 win.
 
GAME ONE
Turning Point
With the bases loaded and one down in the ninth, Grant Barber caught a line drive back over second base and tagged the bag for a game-ending double play to secure the game.

• Hunter Wilson, Billy Cameron, Brandon Broussard and Hunter Sykes each recorded two hits in the game.
• Sykes and Luke Yancey each drove in a pair of runs.

GAME TWO
Turning Point
MC pounded out eight runs on 12 hits while Hunter Mullis allowed just two hits through the first four innings of the game. Only one Bearcat runner reached second base during the four frames.

• Five Choctaws recorded a multiple hit effort in the game led by Barber's 4-for-5 night at the plate.
• Kyle Smith added three hits while Crim, Cameron, and Sykes all contributed two hits.
• Barber, Wilson and Crim were each responsible for driving in a pair of runs.
• Mullis (1-1) picked up the win with 5.2 innings of work. Mullis allowed two runs on five hits with three strikeouts.
