CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's basketball team recognized four student-athletes playing their final home games on Thursday night, but #17 West Florida kept it from being a celebratory night with a 79-49 win in A.E. Wood Coliseum.

Xavion Dillon,
Otis Harvey and
Antonio Johnson were all honored during halftime of the women's contest.
MC dropped to 9-14 with a 6-12 mark in the Gulf South Conference and were officially eliminated from contention in the postseason tournament. The Argonauts improved to 23-3 with a 15-3 mark in the league.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Over the first four minutes, the game remained tight, but the Argos used a 10-0 run to take a 17-5 lead 12:41 remaining in the first half.
- Senior
Antonio Johnson hit a three-pointer to stop the run and cut the lead to nine, but UWF pushed the lead back out and would not hold less than a 12-point advantage the rest of the way.
- The Argos would take a 40-24 lead into the break with a 4-0 run over the final minute of the first half.
- MC scored the first four points of the second half, but UWF responded with seven straight and would eventually take a 33-point lead before settling for the 79-49 win.

- The Choctaws shot just 32% (19-of-59) from the field and went just 3-of-19 (16%) from the three-point line.
- Sophomore
Brandon Boston led the Choctaws with 17 points, going 8-of-12 from the field.
- Boston, Dillon and junior
Donovan Ham each had a team-high seven rebounds.
- Marvin Jones led UWF with 23 points, while DJ Thorpe scored 17.
- Darryl Tucker came off the bench to score 14.
- The Argos shot 53% (30-of-57) from the field and went 10-of-20 from the three-point line.

- The Choctaws will hit the road for their final two games of the season, opening on Saturday when they face UAH at 4:00 p.m.
