HUNTSVILLE, Ala. --- The Mississippi College men's basketball team could not overcome a hot-shooting night from UAH in a 87-74 loss on Saturday afternoon in Spragins Hall.
The Choctaws dropped to 9-15 on the season with a 6-13 Gulf South Conference mark, while the Chargers improved to 15-12 and 8-11 in league play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game was tight early on, and when senior
Xavion Dillon hit a pair of free throws with 10:48 remaining in the first half, UAH held an 18-16 lead.
- With 6:24 to go, senior
Antonio Johnson hit a three-pointer to cut the score to 30-24.
- The Chargers, however, closed the half on a 14-5 run to take a 44-29 lead into the halftime break.
- In the second half, the Choctaws would get no closer than 13 points until the final minutes as UAH handed them their 7th straight defeat.

KEY STATS
- Dillon led the Choctaws with 24 points and nine rebounds, going 9-of-15 from the floor and 4-of-5 from the free throw line.
- Junior
Donovan Ham was also in double-figures with 17, hitting all five of his free throw attempts.
- Junior
Davy Fisher came off the bench to score nine points, going 3-of-6 from the three-point line.
- Seniors
Antonio Johnson and
Otis Harvey each had a team-high three assists.
- The Choctaws shot 41% (25-of-61) from the field but hit 15-of-16 free throws on the night.
- Seth Swalve led all scorers with 23 points, going 5-of-9 from long range for UAH.
- Swalve and Kip Owens also had a team-high eight assists, while Owens scored 17 points.
- Justin Ward was also in double-figures with 14 points for the Chargers.
- UAH shot 51% (31-of-61) from the floor and went 14-of-34 (41%) from the three-point line.

- The Choctaws will wrap up the 2017-18 season on Thursday (Feb. 22) night when they travel to Cleveland, Miss. to face rival Delta State at 7:30 p.m.
