CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's basketball team fell 57-51 to in-state foe Delta State University on Saturday, Dec. 15 at A.E. Wood Coliseum. MC moves to 3-5 on the season and 0-3 in the Gulf South Conference. DSU improved to 7-2 and 3-0 in the league.

Coco Hobson and
Zan Ratcliffe scored in double figures for the Lady Choctaws. Hobson led the team with 11 points while Ratcliffe added 10 points. Hobson led the team with seven rebounds while
Jamilah Sanders pulled down six. Ratcliffe added five boards.

Quantesha Patterson led the Lady Statesmen with 18 points and grabbed a team-best 12 rebounds. Nia Johnson provided 14 points while Frederica Haywood grabbed 10 boards.

Mississippi College clipped the Lady Statesmen's lead to one point with just over two minutes remaining in the game, however Delta State responded with a five, quick points to take a 55-49 advantage with a minute to play. Johnson's 3-pointer capped the spurt for the Green and White.

The Lady Bucs hold a 5-2 advantage after splitting last season's meetings between the two schools. MC's 79-67 win in Memphis snapped a four-game skid in the series.
