ORLANDO – The Mississippi College volleyball team dropped a pair of four-set matches at the NCAA Division II South Region Crossover against Spring Hill College and Florida Institute of Technology.
MC took the first set against Spring Hill in the day-opening match, 25-12, but saw the Badgers claim the following three sets to claim the match. The Navy and Gold battled back from an opening set setback against FIT to knot the match at a set each, 27-25, before dropping the next two.

TURNING POINT
Tied at 9-9 in the third set, Spring Hill went on a 9-2 run midway through to grab an 18-11 lead. Allison Weimer posted three kills during the stretch to help expand the Badgers' lead. SHC claimed a 25-20 win to grab a 2-1 match lead.
INSIDE THE BOX
- A trio of freshmen led the Choctaws in the match. Lexi Lauredine grabbed her third, triple-double of the season with 10 kills, 21 assists and 10 digs. The Clinton, Miss., native has the only triple-doubles in the Gulf South Conference season.
- Jamie Boros and Kendall Platt tied for tops on the team in kills with 12 each. Platt has 17 double-digit, kill performances this season while Boros has 14.
- The 21 digs marks the ninth time this season Jill Brown has registered 20-plus digs.

TURNING POINT
After the Choctaws tied the match at a set each, Florida Tech took a 2-1 lead with a hard fought, third set, 26-24. MC held a 24-23 advantage in the set, but the Panthers rattled off the next three points to escape with the set win. FIT's Heather Bowersox posted a pair of kills during the set-clinching stretch.

- Boros paced the team with 12 kills – her 15th match in double-digits.
- Laurendine posted her fifth match with a double-double this season.
- Autumn Frost registered her fifth match with five-plus blocks.
