CLEVELAND, Tenn. --- The Mississippi College women's basketball team fell 68-52 on Saturday afternoon at Lee University in Gulf South Conference action. MC moved to 6-11 on the season and 2-9 in the conference. Lee improved to 16-3 and 9-2 in the league.

Turning Point
Shelby Brown knocked down a 3-pointer with 2:33 left in the game to place Lee up 64-52 and capped a 7-2 scoring run to help the Lady Flames capture the victory.

Inside the Box Score
- A pair of Lady Choctaws scored in double figures led by Kelley Allen with 12 points. The Puckett, Miss., native also grabbed a team-best eight rebounds. Zan Ratcliffe joined Allen in double figures with 10 points.
- MC shot 37.5 percent from the field in the game while Lee connected on 48.2 percent of its shots. The Lady Flames also posted a clip of 30.4 from behind the arc in the contest.
- Carrie Cheeks paced Lee with 25 points and grabbed a team-best 10 rebounds. Brown added 16 points, including 4-for-4 from behind the arc.
- Lee held the advantage on the glass as it grabbed 36 boards while the Lady Choctaws posted 30 rebounds.
Inside the Flow
After trailing 23-8 at the end of the first 10 minutes of action, MC picked up the defensive pressure as it outscored the Lady Flames 15-11 in the second quarter to clip the deficit to 34-23 at the intermission.

The Lady Choctaws picked up two quick baskets from
Zariah Matthews to open the second half as MC clipped the lead to 34-27. Lee pushed the lead back out to double figures, but with 4:16 left in the third quarter,
Emery Wilson's jumper cut the deficit to 41-35. Back-to-back 3-pointers from Lee helped extend the Lady Flames lead to double figures at 48-36. Shelby Brown placed the Maroon and Blue up 51-40 at the end of the third quarter as she knocked down one of Lee's four, 3-pointers in the quarter.

Mississippi College cut into the Lady Flames deficit to 57-50 on a 3-pointer from
Lauran Sheriff with just over five minutes to play in the game, but Lee responded with a 7-2 run to push the lead to 64-52. Brown knocked down a 3-pointer with 2:33 left to cap the scoring run.
