CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's basketball team saw a game effort come up just short in a 64-60 loss to Montevallo on Monday night in A.E. Wood Coliseum.
The Choctaws fell to 7-8 with a 4-6 mark in the Gulf South Conference, while the Falcons improved to 9-9 with a 4-5 record in the league.

TURNING POINT
- The Choctaws went on a 7-0 run in the final minutes to tie the game at 60-60 as senior
Otis Harvey hit a three-pointer in transition off an assist from senior
Antonio Johnson with 55 seconds to go. The Falcons would respond by scoring the final four points, including hitting all four free throw attempts in the final 30 seconds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons would jump out to an 11-3 lead as the Choctaws struggled from the floor in the opening minutes.
- MC would continue to chip away at the advantage and when Harvey hit a three-pointer with 5:18 remaining, the score was tied at 22-22.
- The Choctaws used a fortunate break in the final second as sophomore
Brandon Boston came away with a loose ball and laid it in as time expired to send the game to the half tied, 28-28.
- In the second half, MC jumped out to their largest lead of the night with 15:16 to go as Harvey hit another three-pointer and made the score 39-32.
- The Choctaws would get into foul trouble in the final minutes and Boston would foul out with 2:05 to go and the Choctaws trailing 60-53.
- MC would answer with the 7-0 run, but the Falcons would hold on for the road victory.

KEY STATS
- The Choctaws shot just 36% (21-of-59) from the field for the night, hitting more three-pointers (12) than two-pointers (9) in the contest.
- They would also go just 6-of-13 (46%) from the foul line as the Falcons went 15-of-23 (65%).
- MC scored 21 points off 12 Montevallo turnovers, but UM outrebounded the Choctaws 40-34 and had 30 points in the paint.
- Junior
Donovan Ham had a team-high 16 points and nine rebounds to go along with five assists.
- Harvey scored 12, while Boston (11) and Johnson (10) were also in double-figures and Johnson had a team-high six assists.
- Julio Guity led all scorers with 17 points for the Falcons, recording a double-double with 16 boards.
- Jeremiah Curtis scored 16 points from the low-post, while Deshawn Jones (11) and Tyler Updike (10) were also in double-figures.

- The Choctaws will be back in action on Thursday night when they travel to Rome, Ga. to face Shorter at 7:00 p.m. (Central).
