Boston's Career-Night Lifts Choctaws to 87-75 Win at Lee

CLEVELAND, Tenn. --- Sophomore Brandon Boston scored a career-high 32 points as the Mississippi College men's basketball team picked up an important road win over Lee University on Saturday afternoon in the Paul Dana Walker Arena.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Choctaws and improved their record to 8-8 with a 5-6 mark in the Gulf South Conference. The Flames fell to 11-7 with a 6-5 league mark.

TURNING POINT
- After a back-and-forth first half that saw the Choctaws take a 38-36 lead into halftime, MC would go on an 9-3 run to open the second 20 minutes and grab a 47-39 advantage. The lead would not fall below five points the rest of the afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams got the offense going early and when Chase Cullen hit a layup for the Flames with 8:54 remaining in the first half, Lee took a 22-21 advantage.
- It would be the last time the Flames would have a lead in the game as the Choctaws scored the next five points.
- Senior Antonio Johnson would convert a three-point play in the final seconds of the first half, and despite a bucket by Lee at the buzzer, MC took a 38-36 lead into the half.
- The Choctaws would continue to grow the lead in the second half, keeping the Flames at arm's length thanks to the outstanding play of Boston.
- The Pearl native hit a free throw with 2:07 remaining in the game to give the Choctaws their largest lead of the night at 77-63.
- The Choctaws would close the game 10-of-12 from the free throw line in the final minute to salt away the victory.
