MOBILE, Ala. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team dropped a straight decision at Spring Hill College on Tuesday evening. MC moves to 2-3 on the season while the Badgers improve to 1-0 on the campaign.

Kayana Mitchell and
Shelby Grace Mays paced the offensive attack for MC. Mitchell finished with a team-best nine kills while Mays added eight kills in the effort.
Sydney Chandler set up the offense with 11 assists in the three sets while
Amanda Torres added nine.

Julia Martin guided the defensive effort with a team-best 10 digs - one off her career-high.

Madison Frazier made her debut in the 2017 season for the Lady Choctaws in the second set.

HOW IT HAPPENED
MC led 13-9 in the opening set, but witnessed SHC knot the contest at 15-all. The two squads exchanged leads over the next eight points with the two standing deadlocked at 19-all. The Badgers rattled off six of the next eight points to take the set 25-21.

The teams stood tied at 14-all in the second set, but the Purple and White took six of the next eight points and take 20-16 advantage en route to a 25-19 set win.

SHC opened the final set with the first four points on the match and never looked back as it closed the contest out at 25-8 in the final set.
