HOW IT HAPPENED
Mississippi College led 9-8 in the first set, but an attack error helped Lee equal the contest at 9-all and started a run of seven straight points to place the Lady Flames up 15-9. The spurt helped LU close the set out on a 17-4 run.

MC held a 6-4 lead early in the second set, but again Lee posted a run and claimed a 9-6 advantage. The Lady Flames continued to place pressure on the Navy and Gold and grabbed a 21-9 en route to a 25-10 set win.

The Lady Choctaws opened the third set with a 6-1 advantage behind two kills from Mitchell, one from Torres and capitalizing on Lady Flame miscues. MC remained on top until Lee took its first lead of the set at 9-8. The two squads exchanged leads until the Lady Flames grabbed a 13-12 margin on a block. The Red and Blue increased lead to 16-12. MC attempted to rally behind a kill from Mitchell, Torres and Zieschang to clip the deficit to 19-16. However, LU answered and closed the set with a 5-0 run.
