PENSACOLA, Fla. --- The Mississippi College men's tennis team suffered their first loss of the year in Gulf South Conference play in a 9-0 setback to number-one ranked West Florida on Friday afternoon. With the loss, MC's record falls to 8-6 overall, and 4-1 in GSC matches.
In singles play,
Marcos Rocca took Sebastian Sanchez to a tiebreaker-third set, before eventually falling to Sanchez in the number three matchup (7-6, 6-7, 10-4).
In Doubles,
Joan Valy and
Marcos Rocca lost for just the second time this season, dropping their record as a pair to 9-2. The duo played the number-one ranked doubles unit Alex Peyrot and Pedro Dumont hard, but came up just short in an 8-6 defeat.
The Choctaws will return to action on Saturday, April 1 against the number-seventh ranked Blazers of Valdosta State University. First serve for tomorrow's match is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
