MOBILE, Ala. --- The Mississippi College men's tennis team picked up their third-consecutive victory with an 8-1 win over the Badgers of Spring Hill College on Monday afternoon. With the win, the Choctaws improve to 5-4 on the season.
In singles play, MC grabbed five of the six possible points up for grabs.
Trey Randall (6-0, 6-2),
Petar Damjanovic (6-1, 6-3) and
Max Nilges (6-3, 6-3) won their matchups in straight sets.
Jose Rodrigo Gonzalez (6-1, 6-1) and
William Clausen (6-3, 6-2) also won in straight sets, while additionally recording their first single's victories of the 2017 season.
In doubles action, MC attained all three of the possible points.
Marcos Rocca and
Joan Valy improved their doubles record to a team-best 5-1 on the year with a 3-0 victory over Lars Bajohr and Martin Jaramillo (retired).
Lucio Menezes and Damjanovic downed A.Hastings Oro and Andrew Risley 8-3 in the number two spot, while Clausen and
Tyler Myers accounted for their first victory as a pair with an 8-6 win over Frank Amanor and Ferdinand Amanor.
The Choctaws will return to action on Sunday, March 19 at Christian Brothers in a GSC showdown beginning at 2:00 p.m.
