LIVINGSTON, Ala. --- The Mississippi College baseball team dropped 5-4 contest on Sunday afternoon at the University of West Alabama. The Choctaws move to 2-13 and 0-6 in Gulf South Conference play. UWA improves to 10-5 and 4-2 in the league.

TURNING POINT
- Mississippi College allowed four runs in the bottom of the ninth after leading 4-1 through 8.5 frames. It marks the third time in two days that the Tigers used a walk-off hit to claim the victory.

KEY STATS
- Three Choctaws recorded multiple hits in the effort led by Casey Echols going 3-for-4 on the day. Blaine Crim and Hunter Sykes each added a pair of hits on the day to join Echols. Crim also drove in a run along with Grant Barber.
- Marcus Morrisette led UWA with three hits, a RBI and a run scored.
- Jake Fraze tossed 8.0 innings in the start for MC. The junior allowed four runs – three earned – on eight hits with a pair of walks and a strikeout in the no decision.
- Zack Ingram (0-3) took the loss allowing a run on two hits with walk in relief.
- Layton Dill (2-1) received the win on the mound pitching just a third of an inning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- MC jumped out to a 2-0 lead through five innings. The Choctaws struck its first blow in the third inning as Barber singled through the left side to score Sykes. The second run came in the fifth inning as Sykes scored on a wild pitch after he drew a leadoff walk.
- West Alabama cut the lead in half in the sixth inning as Morrisette singled through the left side to score Tyler Stafford.
- After Crim scored in the eighth on a wild pitch to give the Choctaws a 3-1 advantage, the Mobile, Ala., sophomore extended the lead in the top of the ninth with a sacrifice fly to right to score Sykes.
- The Tigers chipped away at the deficit in their final at-bat. Luke Phillips started the scoring a with a RBI single that scored Morrisette. Phillips later scored on a bases loaded walk to cut the lead to a run.
- With the bases still full with no outs, Joel Murphy was hit by a pitch the tie the contest at 4-all.
- Nick Delgado delivered the game-winning hit with a bases-loaded, RBI single to right center to score Tyler Sims.
