THE SERIES
Wednesday marks the fourth meeting all-time between Mississippi College and Montevallo and the first since 1991. MC won the first game in the series in 1972 – a 6-5 victory in Clinton. The Purple and Gold have won the last two outings (1973: 6-1; 1991: 12-11).

MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE NOTES
The Choctaws look to snap a three-game skid after dropping a weekend series to Lindenwood University over the weekend.

Hunter Austin leads the Navy and Gold at the plate this season. The Vicksburg, Miss., native is batting .368 on the season with a team-best seven hits, including three doubles, and is tied for tops on the team with three RBI.
Will Elliott sits second on the team with a .294 batting average and is tied with Austin with three RBI and is second in hits with five through the first seven games of the season.

Shelby Craddock leads the Choctaws on the bump. The sophomore from Grenada, Miss., has a 3.86 ERA in four appearances this season.
Tommy Taborda leads the team with 11 strikeouts this season in 10.1 innings of action while
Jake Fraze ranks second on the team with 10 punch-outs.

MONTEVALLO NOTES
The Falcons have won its last four affair, including a weekend sweep of Trevecaa Nazarene over the weekend. UM also topped Tuskegee on Wednesday to start the win streak. The Purple and Gold are 5-2 on the season.

Montevallo has three players hitting over .300 this season led by Collin Dupree's .370 clip. Dupree leads the team with 10 hits. Matthew Furuto is batting .360 with nine hits and 13 RBI while Sebastien Samuels has a .346 clip.

Seth Johnson drew the start on the hill in the midweek contest against Tuskegee last week. Johnson has totaled 6.2 innings of work on the bump and has totaled 10 strikeouts on the season. Jamison Roney leads the team in punch-outs with 14 while Drew Mullinax has 12 on the campaign.

Mississippi College opens Gulf South Conference action this weekend as it travels to Pensacola, Fla., to face the University of West Florida. The three-game series opens on Saturday, Feb. 18 with a doubleheader slated for a 2 p.m. start. Sunday's finale is scheduled for 1 p.m.
