CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's basketball team will wrap up a Gulf South Conference home weekend on Saturday when they host Lee University. Tip-off at A.E. Wood Coliseum is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.

THE SERIES
This will be the 6th all-time meeting between the two schools with the Flames holding a 3-2 edge in the series. In 2014-15, the home teams won both contests, while the road teams were victorious last season. On December 15th, Lee grabbed a 72-55 home win over the Choctaws, keeping them to just 18 first-half points and cruising to the finish line.
Brandon Boston scored 13 points in his first career start to lead MC.

Don Lofton, who earned his 200th career victory on December 3rd in an 83-65 win over Selma.
- MC suffered another heart-breaking defeat on Thursday night, leading for nearly 37-of-40 minutes before falling to Shorter, 68-67. The Choctaws took an 11-point lead in the second half, but the Hawks answered with a 12-0 run and the game went back-and-forth until MC missed a three-pointer at the buzzer to drop their 10th consecutive game. DeOndre Haynes scored 20 points with six assists and five rebounds in defeat.
- Junior
Stacey Mack (12.7 ppg / 7.8 rpg) is the team's leading scorer and rebounder and has put up double-figure points in all 13 games in 2017. Haynes (12.4 ppg) and junior
Antonio Johnson (12.4 ppg) are just behind in scoring. Haynes has a team-high h3.7 assists per game, while Johnson is shooting a team-high 39% from the three-point line.
- The Choctaws have had a rough go in their last three home games, dropping all three by a combined six points, including a double-overtime loss (100-98) to GSC-leading Valdosta State last Thursday.
- First-year head coach Bubba Smith had the Flames off to a fast start, going 6-2 with a 2-0 mark in league play following the win over MC. Since then, Lee is just 3-12, including a current 8-game losing streak.
- Keevin Tyus (17.7 ppg / 6.6 rpg) paces the Flames in scoring and rebounding and is shooting 58% from the field and 70% from the free throw line. He has scored in double-figures in every game this season, including putting up 26 last Saturday against UAH.
- Rico Overall (12.7 ppg) and Jervon Johnson (10.8 ppg) are also scoring in double-figures. Overall is shooting 40% from the three-point line, while Johnson is shooting 84% from the foul line.
Mississippi College is a private Christian university located in Clinton, Mississippi with an enrollment of over 5,000 students. MC is recently finished their transition process back to NCAA Division II and the Gulf South Conference and will be competing for conference and national championships in the 2016-17 academic year.
