CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's basketball team dropped a 71-54 contest to Christian Brothers in Gulf South Conference action. MC moves to 2-4 on the season and 0-2 GSC play. CBU improved to 2-4 and 1-1 in the league.
KEY NOTES
Kelley Allen tallied her seventh, career double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds – both marks tied for tops on the team in the game.

Ieisha Lacey reset her career-high with 10 rebounds in the game. The mark surpassed her previous high of nine with the last coming against Union on Thursday.

Lauran Sheriff posted 17 points in the setback. The point total was two off her season-high of 19 set against Southern-New Orleans on Nov. 25.

Jamilah Sanders made her MC debut in the contest. The Canton, Miss., native played 12 minutes and garnered two rebounds, a steal and block.

Kenzie Jones led Christian Brothers with 21 points in the win.
TURNING POINT
Christian Brothers posted a 9-0 run in the latter half of the third quarter to extend its margin to the largest lead of the game at 19 points. Emily Reeves' knocked down a 3-pointer with 3:12 left in the period to start the scoring spurt and closed by a pair of free throws from Rafaella Angelidou.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After a 14-all contest at the end of the first quarter, Christian Brothers outscored the Lady Choctaws by six in the second quarter and held a 31-25 lead at the half. CBU grabbed the first double-digit lead of the game at 30-20 with just under two minutes before the break as Emily Reeves completed an old fashion, 3-point play with a free throw. The free throw capped a 13-2 run by the Red and Black in the quarter.

The Lady Bucs expanded on their halftime lead in the third quarter as they grabbed their largest lead of the game at 52-33 at the 1:37 mark. MC's Allen hit three free throws down the stretch in the quarter to cut the deficit to 52-36 through the first 30 minutes.

The Lady Choctaws attempted to cut into the deficit, as it pulled within 11 points on several different occasions, but couldn't overcome the double-digit lead.
