CARROLLTON, Ga. --- The Mississippi College men's basketball team fell victim to a late first-half run and could not recover in a 93-82 loss to West Georgia on Saturday afternoon at The Coliseum.
The Choctaws dropped to 3-5 on the season and 1-3 in Gulf South Conference play, while the Wolves improved to 4-4 overall and 1-2 in league play.

TURNING POINT
- Following a layup from junior
Leito Holloway with 4:22 remaining in the first half, the Choctaws trailed just 34-31. The Wolves would score the final 13 points of the period to take a 47-31 lead into halftime and they would not lead by fewer than eight the rest of the way.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Choctaws got off to a fast start, and when junior
Isaiah Austin scored a bucket with 12:48 remaining in the first half, MC had their largest lead of the night at 20-11.
- A layup by sophomore
Brandon Boston with 10:12 to go gave the Choctaws a 26-17 lead, but the Wolves scored the next 14 points and not trail the rest of the game.
- Overall, West Georgia would outscore MC 30-5 over the final 10 minutes of the first half to take control of the game.
- In the second half, the Choctaws would get as closed as 85-77 with 2:17 remaining on a bucket by Dillon, but UWG would hold off the late charge and get their first GSC win of the season.

KEY STATS
- Junior
Leito Holloway tallied his first double-double of the season for the Choctaws, scoring 18 points with 10 rebounds in his first start of the year.
- Senior
Stacey Mack scored a team-high 22 points to go along with nine rebounds.
- Boston was the only other Choctaw to score in double-figures, coming off the bench to score 12.
- Marquill Smith led the Wolves' attack with 27 points and 12 rebounds, while Paul Turner scored 26 points with 11 boards.
