LIVINGSTON, Ala. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team dropped a straight sets, Gulf South Conference match at the University of West Alabama on Saturday afternoon. MC moved to 10-20 and 2-12 in conference play while UWA improved to 17-12 and 9-4 in the GSC.
NOTES
Ashton King led Mississippi College with seven kills in the match while
Amanda Torres added five kills and dished out a team-best 10 assists in the three sets.
Sydney Chandler and
Madison Kimes each supplied a team-best eight digs in the match.

Jamie Lancellot and Taylin McCarver each garnered nine kills to lead West Alabama in the match.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 10-9 in the opening set, MC witnessed the Tigers rattle off four, straight points to take 14-9 advantage and despite rally attempts the Lady Choctaws couldn't overcome the deficit as they fell 25-19.

The Navy and Gold trailed 6-5 in the second set following a King kill, but UWA strung together a 6-1 run to extend the deficit to 12-6. MC chipped away to clip the lead, but a pair of 3-0 runs helped the Tigers put the set away at 25-15.

West Alabama used a 10-3, scoring run to open the third set to secure a 25-15 set win.

Mississippi College returns to action on Thursday, Nov. 9 as it wraps up the home slate against Union University. First whistle is set for 6 p.m.
