CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's basketball team used a 16-2 run over the final 6:27 of the game to pick up an 80-77 exhibition win over William Carey on Saturday afternoon in A.E. Wood Coliseum.

TURNING POINT
- Trailing 75-64 with 6:27 remaining, the Choctaws would go on an 8-0 run, capped by a three-pointer from senior
Antonio Johnson to cut the score to 75-72 with 3:10 to go. MC would then score eight of the game's final 10 points to come all the way back for the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first half saw the Choctaws jump out to their largest lead of the game, 21-13, with 11:24 remaining on a pair of free throws by junior
Leito Holloway.
- The Crusaders would eventually tie the game up in the first half, but MC took a 40-36 advantage into halftime.
- Carey opened the second half on an 8-2 run to grab a 44-42 advantage, and they would score eight straight points later in the period to take a 66-55 lead with 10:32 remaining.
- After a layup by Jared Tillman with 7:16 remaining, the Crusaders led 75-64 but would only score two more points the rest of the game on a jumper by Tillman with 3:01 to go.
- Junior
Donovan Ham cut the lead to 77-74 with a couple of free throws, and Johnson would make it a one-point game with a couple more made foul shots.
- Following a defensive stop with 16 seconds remaining, Ham drove the baseline for the go-ahead layup, making the score 78-77 with :06.6 to go.
- The Crusaders had a good look at a layup on their final possession, but a rebound by sophomore
Brandon Boston and two more made foul shots by Johnson gave the Choctaws the three-point win.

KEY STATS
- The Choctaws shot 58% (28-48) from the floor, including senior
Stacey Mack and Boston combining to go 17-of-24 for 38 points and 19 rebounds.
- Boston tallied a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards, while Mack had a game-high 22 points.
- Johnson was also in double-figures with 12 points and a team-high six assists, while going 9-of-11 from the free throw line.
- Senior
Otis Harvey had five assists to go along with five points.
- MC outrebounded William Carey 35-27 and had 18 points off the bench, led by Holloway's six.
- The Crusaders shot 49% (34-69) from the floor and had 44 points in the paint.
- They would also score 24 points off 22 MC turnovers and pour in 14 fast-break points.
- Tillman led the way with 20 points, while Maurice Stephens had 14 points and a team-high nine rebounds

- The Choctaws will back in action on Monday night when they will host Southern-New Orleans at 7:00 p.m. in A.E. Wood Coliseum. Last Tuesday, MC grabbed another come-from-behind win, taking down the Knights, 77-60.
