TOUGALOO, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's basketball team ran its win streak to five games following a 66-62 win at Tougaloo College on Monday afternoon. MC improves to 8-5 on the season while the Lady Bulldogs fell to 4-7 on the campaign.

Cortrice Golden posted her second consecutive double-double with a team-best 19 points and 11 rebounds in the win. The junior has posted double-digits scoring in six games.

Olivia Mabry joined the Memphis, Tenn., teammate with 11 points in the effort. The Meridian, Miss., native has scored in double figures in five games this season.

The Lady Choctaws shot 48 percent from the field, including a clip of 40 from behind the arc. MC connected on 80 percent from the free throw line.

Tougaloo was led by Arnissayur Robinson with 17 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Mississippi College opened the contest with a 9-0 run. MC reached a double-digit lead at the 6:37 mark of the second quarter on a
Nora Kathryn Carroll shot to place the Lady Choctaws up 18-8 en route to a 26-19 lead at the intermission.

TC opened the third quarter on a 14-8 run to cut the Navy and Gold's lead to a point, but MC responded with an 11-3 run to extend its lead back to nine points, 45-36, with a minute left in the quarter.

The Lady Bulldogs again tried to overtake MC in the fourth quarter, nipping the lead to a point on two different occasions, but the Lady Choctaws held off the Red and Blue to claim the win.

Mississippi College returns to action on Thursday, Jan. 19 as it travels to West Florida for Gulf South Conference action. Tip-off in Pensacola, Fla., is slated for 6 p.m.
