CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's basketball team ran its win streak to three straight following a 75-65 Gulf South Conference victory over the University of Alabama in Huntsville on Thursday evening. MC improved to 6-5 on the season and 4-4 in the GSC while UAH fell to 2-11 and 1-7 in the conference.

Mississippi College placed three players in double figures led by
Ashley Minor's 19 points. The Natchez, Miss., native ran her streak of consecutive double-digit performances to seven in the effort.

Kaitlyn Thompson tied a season-high with 10 points in the win. Thompson's previous best came on Dec. 6 of this season against LeMoyne-Owen.

Kelley Allen poured in 16 points. The Puckett, Miss., product in a team-best nine contests this season.

The Lady Choctaws shot 81.5 percent from the free throw line – which ranks third this season among the team.

Mississippi College out-rebounded UAH 35-32. It marks the sixth time this season the Navy and Gold have held the advantage on the glass over its opposition and MC stands 5-1 in those contests.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Mississippi College rallied from a 21-16 at the end of the first quarter to take a 38-35 lead at the intermission. MC outscored the Chargers 22-14 in the second quarter and grabbed its first lead of the game, 24-23, at the 7:03 mark of the quarter on a Minor layup. The senior guard put MC up three points as she capped the old-fashioned 3-point play with a free throw.

Following a tough, third quarter, MC held a 53-51 lead heading into the final 10 minutes of play. The Lady Choctaws used a 6-0 run to extend their lead to 59-51 early in the fourth quarter.

UAH cut the MC lead to two points on two different occasions in the final stanza, but couldn't overcome the deficit. MC closed the final 2:30 minutes of the game on an 11-3 run to capture the victory.
