PENSACOLA, Fla. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 22nd-ranked University of West Florida. MC falls to 7-7 overall and 1-6 in the Gulf South Conference. UWF improves to 10-4 and 6-0 in the conference.

Shelby Grace Mays led the Lady Choctaws with seven kills while
Bailee Berringer dished out a team-best 14 assists. The Dickinson, Texas, native recorded her second double-double of the season as she added a team-leading 13 digs.

Madison Frazier and
Jamila Biglow garnered two blocks each to pace the team.

MC fought through the first two sets, pushing the Green and Blue to 25-17 and 25-16 affairs. However, UWF used a .500 attack percentage as it rattled off a 25-10 win in the third set to clinch the match.

"I'm waiting for us to fight throughout the whole match. I feel like we surprise ourselves as we get points against nationally ranked programs that are offensively and defensively talented," said head coach
Julie Redus. "We have to have a better accountability for ourselves and we've started to realize playing with heart isn't going to win the match just based on that. It has to be heart and discipline when playing in the GSC."

Katy Kuhlmeier paced the Argos with seven kills while Cora Bidlack added six. Monique StCyr and Brogann Wallin each recorded double-digit assists with StCyr leading the squad with 19. Wallin added 10 assists.

Mississippi College returns to action on Friday, Sept. 30 as it travels to Huntsville, Ala., to face Miles College and the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
