MEMPHIS, Tenn. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision inside Canale Arena at Christian Brothers University on Saturday, Sept. 17. The match marked the ninth in 12 days for MC, which fell to 6-5 overall and 0-4 in the Gulf South Conference. CBU improved to 6-2 and 2-1 in the league.

Kayana Mitchell led Mississippi College with six kills followed by five from
Jenna Campbell.
Bailee Berringer dished out a team-leading nine assists while
Sydney Chandler supplied seven. The duo combined for 16 of the team's 21 assists on the day.

Jessica Olienyk led the defensive effort with five digs – a season-high for Van Buren, Ark., native. Chandler added four digs for the Navy and Gold while Mitchell recorded three blocks.

The Lady Choctaws fell behind early in the first two sets before falling 25-18 in each outing.

The Navy and Gold pressed the Lady Bucs in the third set trailing 10-9. The Red and Black used an 11-3 run to extend the lead to 21-12 before closing out the match with four of the final six points.

Emma Lenoir paced CBU with 13 kills while Jessica Reber added 35 assists.

Mississippi College returns to action on Friday, Sept. 23 as it hosts the University of West Georgia. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
