CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College baseball team had its rally come up short on Senior Day as Lee University escaped with a 13-12 win over the Choctaws (15-28, 6-23 Gulf South Conference) at Frierson Field on Sunday afternoon. Lee improved to 30-15 and 18-10 in conference play.

Trailing 13-0 going into the bottom of the seventh, the Navy and Gold plated eight runs in the frame to hold off a run-rule win in the final game of the series. MC totaled six hits in the inning with RBI registered by
Hunter Bolin,
Logan Ferrell and
Blaine Crim. Crim, who hit his third home run of the season, and Bolin each drove in three runs in the inning.

After dismissing the Flames in the top of the eighth, the Choctaws added four more runs in the home half of the inning.
Will Elliott delivered the biggest blow with a three-run home run to cut the deficit to a run. The round-tripper was the team-leading, eighth of the season for the junior. Crim started the scoring in the inning with a RBI single up the middle.

MC again turned back LU in the top of the ninth, but couldn't manage a run in the bottom of the contest leaving the epic attempt at a comeback win short.

Hunter Hall led the team with three hits on the day while Crim,
Colton Caver and Bolin each recorded two hits to join the Hoover, Ala., senior with multiple hits on the day. Crim paced the team with four RBI while Bolin and Elliott each drove in three runs for the multi-RBI efforts.

Taylor Olsen (0-2) was saddled with the loss in the start. Olsen tossed 5.0 innings allowing six runs – five earned – on six hits with the strikeouts and a trio of walks.

Trenton Hill (6-2) garnered the win on the bump with 5.0-scoreless frames allowing two hits with four strikeouts and three walks.

Mississippi College returns to action on Tuesday, Apr. 26 as it travels to Hattiesburg, Miss., to face William Carey. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
