HATTIESBURG, Miss. --- The Mississippi College baseball team secured a season sweep of William Carey with a 12-4 over the Crusaders (34-16) on Tuesday evening. The Choctaws improve to 16-28 in the win.

Four Choctaws recorded multiple hits in the effort and
Blaine Crim (3-4) tallied his third win of the season. The freshman, who toed the rubber for the first time in a month, tossed 5.0 innings on the bump with two runs allowed on five hits with four walks and three strikeouts. The Mobile, Ala., native assisted in his own cause on the bump going 3-for-5 with two RBI and three runs scored.

Will Elliott led the team at the dish going 4-for-5 with three RBI while
Caleb Upton led the squad with five RBI with a pair of hits, including a grand slam home run in the fourth - his third of the season and the 22nd by the squad on the campaign.
Logan Ferrell also tallied a pair of hits on the day.

MC took a 7-1 lead through the first three innings prior to Upton's four-run blast. After WCU added a run in the fifth and two more in the sixth to narrow the deficit to 11-4, the Navy and Gold added its final run in the top of the ninth.

The 12 runs are tied for third most on the season as the 12 RBI match the most – equaling the mark set against Christian Brothers on Mar. 19 and the at Belhaven last week.

Mississippi College returns to action this weekend as the squad travels to Cleveland, Miss., to face in-state foe Delta State. First pitch of Saturday's doubleheader is slated for 2 p.m. Sunday's finale is marked for 2 p.m.
