HUNTSVILLE, Ala. --- The Mississippi College baseball team fell 17-4 at the University of Alabama in Huntsville on Sunday afternoon. MC moves to 13-26 and 5-21 in Gulf South Conference action while UAH improved to 28-15 and 18-9 in conference play.

The Choctaws' bats were silenced as the squad managed just five hits on the day. UAH totaled four home runs on the day en route to tying the second most hits on the campaign with 19 and converted on five miscues by the Navy and Gold.

Trailing 2-0 after the first inning, MC gathered its first run of the contest as
Colton Caver scored on a fielder's choice, bunt by
Will Elliott. Caver led off the inning with a double to right center and reached third on
Caleb Upton sac bunt.

UAH responded in the bottom of the inning with seven runs – two earned - to take a 9-1 advantage through two innings. The Chargers used a two-run, triple and two home runs to extend the lead.

Matt Payne (0-2) took the loss on the mound as the junior allowed eight runs – two earned – on five hits in 1.2 innings of work. The hurler struck out three and walked one in the time on the bump.

Blaine Crim delivered the Choctaws' second run of the game with a single up the middle, scoring
Caleb Upton, who reached on a single earlier in the inning.

UAH equaled the run in the bottom of the fourth, three in the fifth and four in the sixth. MC plated two runs in the top of the seventh.

Mississippi College returns to action on Tuesday, Apr. 19 as it closes out a season-long, nine game road swing as the squad travels to Jackson, Miss., to face Belhaven University. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
