HUNTSVILLE, Ala. --- The Mississippi College baseball team dropped a twinbill at the University of Alabama in Huntsville as the Choctaws (13-25, 5-21 Gulf South Conference) fell 5-2 in the opening game and were edged 2-1 in the final game of the day.

In game two, the two squads fought through a scoreless six innings until
Logan Ferrell delivered a RBI single to score
Tyler Bushue in the top of the seventh. Bushue came into the contest as a pinch runner for
Hunter Austin, who led off the inning with a single.

Samuel Harrison (2-5) took the loss on the mound. The freshman hurler tossed 6.0 innings in thsetback as he allowed five hits with two runs and struck out two and walked two.

UAH tied the contest in the bottom of the inning as Wright Hackett singled up the middle. Zach Dugas added the game-winning hit on the next at-bat with a single into shallow center.

In the opening contest, MC posted its only two runs in the top of the ninth as
Colton Caver delivered a two-run, two-out home run to left field. The homer was the second of the season and fourth of his career.

The Choctaws had three hitters record multiple-hit efforts as
Logan Ferrell led the squad going 3-for-4.
Blaine Crim and
Will Elliott each joined Ferrell with multi-hits as they both recorded a pair of hits.

Jake Fraze (5-4) took the loss on the mound as he pitched 5.2 innings allowing four runs on 10 hits with two strikeouts and two walks.
Parker Watts and
Tyler Bushue each saw action on the bump in relief. Watts went 1.1 frames with a one run allowed on two hits with two strikeouts. Bushue pitched the final frame as he saw just three batters with a strikeout.

UAH scored in the first inning and extended its lead to 3-0 in the fifth. The Chargers added insurance runs with single spots in the sixth and seventh.

Mississippi College and Alabama-Huntsville will meet in the final game of the series on Sunday, Apr. 17. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
